To My Precious Daughters

Growing up I would imagine of greatness, a future filled with amazement, splendor, joy and laughter. A grownup version of me, who was fearless, strong willed and a force to be reckoned with. A lioness who’s heart was as strong, as it was loving and caring. As so many of life’s wonders, my journey was indeed filled with everything I ever wanted and more. To my greatest discovery however, true happiness, fulfillment and my greatest accomplishment was only achieved, when you gifted me with the greatest challenge and the most beautiful task yet, becoming your mother.

My beautiful girls, you amaze me everyday with your inquisitiveness, your love and passion for new discoveries is contagious and shines bright through your star studded eyes. The gift of being your mother is a cornucopia of happiness, a gift that keeps on giving!

My phenomenal girls, when you were babies I would walk ahead of you, while you would grip my hands so fiercely as we would take small steps together. Those tiny hands in mine, were so fragile but yet so strong and trusting. Now older and fully capable of walking on your own, my new position is beside you and no longer in front. As we walk side by side, I gaze at you and marvel at the young girls you have become. Never seize to shine, for your shimmer is but your essence and my purpose in life. Sprinkle that glittering essence of yours everywhere you go, walk tall, speak your mind and never be afraid to chase your dreams and goals.

My extraordinary girls, every day spent with you is filled with amazement, splendor, joy and laughter. I am already proud of the day, when you will be walking ahead of me, while holding and guiding my fragile hands.

Phenomenal Woman

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.

Parachutes

Whenever I ask my kids what they want to be, when they grow up, the answer is always the same, scientist! They are very inquisitive as most children are, always on a mission to find new experiments to do and adventures to embark on.

I make it my mission to never utter the words “I don’t know”, when they ask questions I don’t have answers for. Instead I make it into an experiment we can find the answers to together, all while we are having fun and spending quality time.

How do birds fly, how does different  bubble makers and parachutes work? Answering their questions lead us to actually making parachutes out of some yarn and a piece of plastic. For the skydiver we used non other then my girls’ favorite franchise, My Little Pony characters. #InspireHerMind
